Trevor,  Which or your power supply kits would you recommend for the Kit 100?  If a transformer is needed which size should I purchase?  Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I'm using a 7.5VAC x 2 (15V-18V) / 2A transformer for Kit100. 2A is ok because the regulated IC 7812 on board provided 1.5A output max.

K100 is a 'preamp' - its current requirements are small, around 100-200 milliamps I am guessing.

The docs on the web site show the power requirements. The actual current drawn is only 50 mA, but you should allow a reasonable margin. 200 mA should be fine. A 15V plug pack is ideal, but you can usually get away with a 12V one.

Alternatively a 12V to 18V AC supply could be used, D1 and C15 will act as a half wave rectifier/filter.

Can I use a laptop powerpack that is rated at 15 vdc and 4 amps for the K100?
