I'm trying to update my chipinfo.cid to support a 12f1840. It's pretty similar to an 12f683 which I'm using as a template.

I think I've made the updates correctly, but when I try to load in my hex file, which was built for the 12f1840, it says "This data appears to be for a different core type..."

I can't figure out what it's looking at. Something in the hex file for sure, but what? Note: This is at file load, long before trying to actually access the chip. That will likely be a different set of issues.

I am not a PIC user so this problem is beyond my understanding. Hopefully someone else on this forum can give an explanation of what's happening.

Unfortunately there is no further development of these programmers, either hardware or software. If the problem is in the software then we're stuck with it

Just for anyone else who may come across this, here is the config i'm using which may resolve the issue above, with a core type of bit14_B

I can't guarantee that this is 100% valid, the fuses may require further tweaking.
