I bought a kit 128 fully assembled two years ago; never use it.
yesterday a tried to do the setup and is showing a mismatch as follows:  firmware is P018 and Micropro is P18A.

The programmer seems to operate fine, it does the RESET and perform as the instructions explains, with no PIC in the socket, select PIC16F84, press READ. will display all zeros.

The instruction that comes with the unit says that "the firmware chip supplied with this kit will run with MicroPro.exe from diypack25.zip; but whatever installed is:
Microbrn, not Micropro.exe.

Have been reading the forum topics related to similar problems and can say this,
-Windows driver downloaded from FTDI is working fine, PC is
           recognizing the k128.

Please define the Diypack version to download with my firmware chip.

Any hint to solve this ?
Thanks in advance.

You have downloaded the wrong version of DIYpack. You have installed 'DIYpack25EP' whereas you need to install 'DIYpack25' or 'DIYpack25A' (the A version uses a Win32 install handler).

You can downalod these from
http://www.ozitronics.com/download/diypack25.zip
http://www.ozitronics.com/download/DIYPACK25A.zip

Once 'up and running' you can then upgrade to DIYpack25EP. In the DIYpack25EP install folder will be a HEX file for your K128 programmer. Simply use your existing setup to proram another 16F628 chip then swap them over and start running Microbrn.
